Rules & Submissions Instructions

Home Brew Guest Brew Contest is open to any Alberta homebrewer of legal drinking age from March 7, 2019 to midnight on March 31th, 2019. Winner will be contacted via email on April 4,2019. Announcement of winning beer will happen April 5, 2019. The winning homebrewer will brew the winning beer with Revival, will work with Revival to name and launch the beer on Revival’s tap at the Alberta Beer Fest on May 3,2019 and Revival Brewcade on Sunday, May 5. The winner will also receive 2 tickets to Alberta Beer Fest.

Submission deadline is April 3rd, 2019. (ie: You bottles must be at Revival by April 3rd, 2019.)

Who is Eligible?

Open to residents of Alberta who are homebrewers of legal drinking age. By entering the contest, you give permission for Revival Brewcade to email you information about the contest. This contest has no cash value and prizes are not exchangeable for monetary value. No purchase necessary. Must be 18 years of age or older by start of contest. By entering the contest, you give permission to post possible names and labels on social media and on our website, permission to use your name in all promotional/marketing material.

Entry Requirements

All entries must be received at the mailing/drop-off locations by the entry deadline. The competition organizers are not responsible for mis-categorized entries, mailed entries that are not received by the entry deadline, or entries that arrived damaged.

The competition organizers reserve the right to combine styles for judging and to restructure awards as needed depending upon the quantity and quality of entries. All possible effort will be made to combine similar styles. All entries in combined categories will be judged according to the style they were originally entered in.
Revival staff and at least one BJCP judge will evaluate, score, and provide feedback on each entry.

Each participant will be limited to 1 entry, with an overall competition limit of 75 total entries. There is a limit of 1 entry per BJCP style 10, 11, 18, 21, 25, 29, 34. Scoresheets will available for download from the registration software promptly after the competition concludes.

Bottle Acceptance Guidelines

Each entry should consist of two brown glass bottles (341 to 500mL). Bottles must be void of all identifying information, especially commercial/home-made labels. Any marked caps must be blacked out. A Bottle ID form must then be attached to each bottle by elastic band (NO tape please). Download and Print the Bottle ID Form here.

Dropping Off Your Entries

If you are a local entrant, you can drop off at our location during regular business hours.

Shipping Tips

If you are from out of town you will probably want to ship your entries via UPS or FedEx. Pack your box with the assumption it will be dropped at some point, lots of bubble wrap and plastic bags are recommended. Pack your box tightly to avoid the bottles moving around during shipping, don’t leave any empty space.

Rules & Restrictions
All entries must be made using private equipment in the homebrewing spirit (i.e., no use of commercial facilities or Brew on Premises operations, etc.). There must be only one submission per person. Any further submissions will erase the previous submission.
